Shades
A fan favorite blending gospel, R&B, and blues—with inspiration from Prince to Kim Burrell. Includes a new 2025 version of “No Man,” featured on So You Think You Can Dance.
About The Release
This record—a fan favorite—showcases my love of gospel music, R&B, and blues. I was heavily inspired by artists like Prince, gospel legend Kim Burrell, Stevie Wonder, and (oddly enough) a dash of David Bowie and Nine Inch Nails. Yes, I know the combination seems unlikely. But for anyone who’s followed my music, you know I have eclectic tastes—and I never shy away from blending genres if it serves the song. I’ve included in this re-release a recent rehearsal of my song “No Man,” which has been heard globally on the hit show So You Think You Can Dance. It’s built a strong international following in the competitive dance world. I don’t know if it’s because of the snaps, the topic, or the raw emotion—but I thought it would be fun to share a 2025 rendition of one of the first songs I ever wrote… as a wee pre-teen. Enjoy!
