This track was recorded at the legendary Sunrise Studios in Houston, where I specifically sought out the SSL board to capture that warm analog sound. I wanted listeners to feel the depth of this melodic, southern-inspired track, where every note carries the weight of the message: in life, you're always paying, whether it's with time, money, or energy. The key lyric, "Money don’t grow on trees, unless you slanging bud or cocoa leaves," puts a twist on the old adage and speaks to the hustle in every aspect of life. The track opens with a powerful verse from Slash, a Houston legenf, and Junee, also from Houston, provides a soulful hook that I wrote to bring the message home. This song is for those who know that true change requires sacrifice, and you can't expect to get what you want without putting something on the line.
