"Insane" by Hollow Spaces is a pleasing combination of heavy guitar chords, emotional lyrics, and a melodically captivating performance that sets a melancholic tone. "Insane" tells the story of the inability to escape the flaws of oneself but learning self-acceptance by having to face those flaws.

"Insane" was the first track Hollow Spaces created together. This track ended up becoming the foundation for the formation of Hollow Spaces. They began this track knowing that it was experimental with Rephlect's core-sound being hip hop based and AJ's being alternative rock based. Combining AJ's instrumental experience, Rephlect's songwriting ability, and a polished performance of the chorus by a freind (Sarah McLung), "Insane" creates a melancholic tone with an emotional story of the inability to escape oneself but learning self-acceptance by being forced to confront one's own flaws.
