A signature JST FRNDS anthem off their second EP Pool Rules — an electric, emotional dive into the duo’s real-life origin story. Inspired by the nostalgia-soaked intimacy of The Chainsmokers’ “Closer” era, the track captures the rush of young love when everything feels life-or-death and nothing is overthought. It’s messy. It’s impulsive. With lyrics like “I fell in with my eyes closed” and “I jumped in with my clothes off,” JST FRNDS lean into the recklessness that defined the start of their relationship —  Swelling synths and headrush melodies build a euphoric backdrop as the couple sings from the edge of that first emotional cliff, when falling for someone feels like freefalling with them. Self-produced, co-written with French Canadian pop artist Liya Bombardier, and mixed by Guy Gabriel, “Cool Me Down” is both a love letter and a lifeline — distilling the heat of infatuation and the chill that follows when real feelings settle in.
