The track paints the distinct epic of a high-profile couple that struggles with the idea of their drama being used as public entertainment. The lyrics allow her listeners to be a fly on the wall of her characters:

“BASE” is a direct criticism of how the media & general public treat celebrities' emotions and drama as a game they get to play without actually participating. Unfortunately, their commentary is a sharp knife of its own. The upbeat nature of the track matches the excitement the public feels as they engage in this couple’s downfall. Make no mistake; this couple has been falling out of love on their own. But the pressures of following outside narratives has them questioning whether the game is even worth playing, and if their money is enough to keep them happy.
