The Flo-etic mixtape is authentic hip hop storytelling at its finest. Kareem's poetic, thought-provoking rhymes and beats highlight hip hop as an effective tool used by Black professors to promote the success of Black college students.

Take a lyrical and educational journey with Kareem Elevated. The term Flo-etic represents the combination of 2 words: flo’ which means rap, and poetic for poetry. Kareem's creativity behind "Flo-etic," was inspired by the English R&B group duo, Floetry, known for their poetic r&b and hip-hop elements.

Kareem's new album features 7 songs, 1 poem, and 2 interludes. This production represents an artistic interpretation of Kareem's findings in his dissertation, "An Arts-Based Study on Hip Hop Pedagogy for Black College Student Success."

Kareem tackles issues of class and racism through his lyrics connected with short audio clips of two professors. Song’s like American Academy and Past Present Future, address the urgent need for the American education system to make more efforts toward equity and anti-racism, to support students of color.
