I stood in my son's playroom, virtually untouched since the day he died, staring at the banner of art, crafts, and postcards we hung on the wall. I thought, what if I could write him a postcard right now? What would I say? Would I tell him about all the terrible things going on in the world right now? No, I would just write him a few simple words because I love him and miss him. The result is this song, like Born in the USA but for love and loss.
