This project for me is sort of an “it is what it is” statement.

As I enter this next phase of my journey in music, the focus is true independence. Even.Biz helps me accomplish that goal like no other platform.

A huge nod/ shoutout to the “type beat” culture on YouTube. All of the instrumentals on this project are “mick Jenkins type beats” that I found there. I wanted to show love to that world, since it was truly where I began to find my way in rap. For me it really comes full circle as I prepare to truly find my way in the business of rap.

A MURDER OF CROWS

Black Ass Kung Fu Flick is a collaborative project between Mick Jenkins and greenSLLIME, channeling the rebellion of classic blaxploitation cinema through sound. Blending hard-hitting, cinematic production with kung-fu film influences and soul, the project positions Mick as sharp-minded, spiritually grounded, and unapologetic in his resistance to corrupt systems. Anchored by greenSLLIME’s immersive soundscapes and punctuated by his own sharp, understated rapping, the music weaves social commentary, humor, and cultural pride into a bold empowerment narrative that flips exploitation tropes on their head. The result is a film you can hear: confrontational and rooted in Black imagination.
