Before I was Don Michael Jr., I was Young. In this BackStage Story, I go back to the beginning: basement studios, cassette tapes, my first rap group, my first real recording sessions, and the childhood friendship that ended after my house was robbed. This is the story of how my music journey started, and how one moment changed me forever.

What Did I Say Back in 2006?

In 2006, I recorded The Executive Decisions Mixtape. It never got released because we couldn’t afford to put it out. While digging through old hard drives with Lyrics Matter, we found the files. I haven't heard these songs since 2010. Some things are better left in the past... And some aren't.
